Our Name

The story of Javilud begins with family.

Born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, Amanda Lee Keammerer launched Javilud in 2017. Looking around for inspiration, Amanda sat down with a pen and paper. Bored with basic business names, Amanda asked herself: How could she honor her roots, her hometown, and her family, while also standing out in a crowded digital world? Starting with her grandparents’ first names, Amanda carefully wrote down: Janie, Vicenta, Luciano, Diana, and Richard. Like tiny noodles in a bowl of alphabet soup, Amanda pushed the letters across the page, scribbling here and scratching out there, determined to create something new out of what was in front of her.

And she did!

Amanda combined her grandparents’ names together to form a business name like no other: Javilud (pronounced jah-vee-lood or ha-vee-lood). From its name to its work and its teammates, Javilud’s commitment to innovation extends beyond technology to people, policy, processes, and partnerships.
